Onderwijs verandert levens. Elk kind dat onderwijs krijgt, heeft de kracht om zijn gezin uit de armoede te halen en bij te dragen aan een sterkere en meer rechtvaardige gemeenschap.<\/p>\n

In de regio Somali, in het oosten van Ethiopi\u00eb, hebben vijf opeenvolgende seizoenen van ernstige droogte voor grote voedselonzekerheid<\/strong> gezorgd. De gezondheid en voeding van de kinderen daar is alarmerend, met een chronische ondervoedingsgraad <\/strong>van 41,9%.<\/p>\n

Ze worden geconfronteerd met een dubbele tragedie: ondervoeding en beperkte toegang <\/strong>tot onderwijs. Veel families houden hun kinderen liever thuis om te helpen met huishoudelijke taken. Een van onze partners financierde tijdens het schooljaar 2023 de oprichting van een schoolkantine<\/strong> in het district Karsadula. In de basisschool van Harabatun hebben 726 leerlingen<\/strong> maaltijden gekregen die voldeden aan de noodzakelijke voedingsnormen voor hun fysieke en cognitieve ontwikkeling. Het aantal schoolverlaters is gedaald tot 0%, tegenover 12,6% in 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Karama Solidarity is een in 1992 in Belgi\u00eb opgerichte vereniging, geleid door waarden van waardigheid en altru\u00efsme<\/strong>. De projecten die we uitvoeren in de 8 landen in Afrika en Azi\u00eb waar we aanwezig zijn, hebben altijd als doel gemeenschappen in kwetsbare situaties in staat te stellen autonoom te worden. De begunstigden zijn zo zelf de dragers van de projecten <\/strong>en dragen bij aan het opbouwen van een betere toekomst<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Onze rekeningen worden jaarlijks onderworpen aan een rigoureuze<\/strong> en niet-verplichte controle, uitgevoerd door een externe audit om absolute transparantie<\/strong> en totale betrouwbaarheid van ons beheer te waarborgen.
